Renal function tests I Part 2 I Urine analysis

Kidney function tests part 2 about urine examination. There are 3 categories of tests done in urine sample namely physical tests, chemical tests and microscopic examination. Volume, color, odor, specific gravity, pH and appearance are the parameters observed under physical characteristics of urine. Protein, blood, glucose, bile salts, bile pigments and ketone bodies are tested under chemical tests. Microscopic examinations of urine involves observations of RBC, WBC, pus cells, casts and crystals.
