Canyonlands National Park is the largest national park in Utah — carved by the Colorado and Green Rivers into towering mesas, deep canyons, and endless red rock views. We only had a short window to explore, but in just 3 hours we covered a ton of ground in the Island in the Sky district… the most accessible part of the park.
Here’s what we did:
✔️ Mesa Arch (9am “vacation early”)
✔️ Grand View Point Road overlooks
✔️ Part of the Grand View Point Trail
✔️ Whale Rock
✔️ Green River Overlook
✔️ Junior Ranger badges at the visitor center
If you’re visiting Moab and are short on time, Island in the Sky gives you huge views with easy access and short trails — perfect for families.
