Modified Motion Driven Sprinkler Finally Effective Against Heron At My Koi Pond

After studying the videos of my fish getting eaten by Herons despite the motion triggered sprinklers, I finally came up with a modification to make it effective at chasing the Heron away. I modified the mounting to place the sprinkler head at an angle so that the water shoots out horizontally. This allows the jet to hit the heron's body directly. I also set up additional sprinkler heads so that they all spray at the same time. The Rainbird cannot be used for this since the elevation of the motion sensor cannot be adjusted. I also had to set up additional sensors/sprinklers to cover all the entry points to the pond. These birds are smart and they don't quit. They still come back and try just in case I forget to turn on the water. They also can move so very slowly so the sensor will not detect them. Fortunately, they tend to flutter their wings just before they attack and the sensor will trigger just in time to foil the attack.
