Continuing series documenting the full Renovation of a Classic 1973 Egg Harbor Sportfish boat by working only nights and weekends. In this episode I continue with the aft hatch project by fabricating and fitting the drain channel/support pieces. These pieces support the hatches from below and also provide a means to collect and drain, mostly rain water, that gets into the gap between the hatch and deck. The drain channels slope to what will be a hatch drain plumbing system which will carry the water to thru hull fittings and out of the boat. That's getting a bit ahead of ourselves as the plumbing portion will be covered in a future episode.
