Why Art Teachers Stop Teaching -Elementary Art

In this video, I discuss all of the reasons why I think that a new teacher would decide to quit teaching elementary art. As someone with a few years of teaching experience, I have personally experienced the ups and downs of teaching elementary art. There are several reasons why an elementary art teacher may want to quit or might decide to stop teaching art: low pay (not on this list), limited time, limited budgets for purchasing art supplies and difficult student behavior. My goal with this video is to give incoming elementary art teachers a true and honest view of what it is like to teach elementary art.

Please, watch this whole video as there are many valid reasons why a teacher might find him/herself saying "I quit teaching" after a difficult time in the art room. One way to prevent teacher burnout and teacher stress is to establish reasonable classroom routines and procedures as you build out your classroom management plan.
