A rather unique pedestrianised level crossing located next to Rainham Station in the town of Rainham located within the London borough of Havering. This level crossing became pedestrianised after the construction of High Speed 1, which runs behind a large wall on one side of the level crossing, cut off Ferry Lane (the road which this level crossing is located on), and now the only use this level crossing gets is by pedestrians or the occasional authorised vehicle to access the trackside of High Speed 1.
Apart from the LED wigwags from early 2018, this level crossing appears slightly worse for wear since the barriers seem to be missing skirt rods with some striking the floor in addition. As well as this, one of the alarms sounds with a very fast tone with the other sounding with a rather strange and squeaky high-pitched tone. Additional signage here instructs pedestrians not to cross when the red lights show.
As the level crossing activates in the first video here, a Eurostar train can be heard flying past on High Speed One. A few minutes has also been cut from this first lowering.
Thanks for watching!
