Ffestiniog Railway 26/09/2020|Britomart Hauls Service Trains!

Here we see some of my footage of the Ffestiniog Railway on 26/09/2020. It ended up being quite a busy Saturday for the FR with various workings such as Moelwyn collecting a brake van and the Flying Bench from Glanypwll, and Prince taking coal to the harbour. Britomart was tasked with hauling the 12.10 and 15.25 services to TYB, which Lilla, seen outside Boston Lodge, was planned to work the day after. The shortened carriage set was made up of Van 10 and Carriage 20, both in the Colonel Stephens' livery. Initially, the 1st diagram was not intended to be in use on the day, however with more bookings than expected made, it was decided to run the 13.15 using Blanche.


Most of the footage is of Britomart on her rare outing, also said to be her first ever service train, with some shorter clips taken from onboard. The journey was made almost non-stop to TYB (the train had to pause by the signal on approach to TYB) and, interestingly, it is believed that a record was se,t for the quarry Hunslet, by having the regulator open for 47 minutes straight.
I decided to try a couple of new spots on/around The Cob which I think went alright, however I have shortened these shots down to remove some parts where not much was going on, or the camera work was a bit messy.
