EMR full journey Nottingham to St Pancras International 23/08/2024

Journey back to London from Notts onboard 222008 (coupled to 222010) working 1B91 1949 Nottingham to St Pancras International calling at Loughborough, Leicester, Market Harborough, Kettering and St Pancras International. And yes, the auto-announcements were switched off as usual, probably because most train managers don't know how to switch them on nowadays in addition to the 222 female (same one previously used on the 350s) not having Corby or East Midlands Parkway recorded, as they are from the Midland Mainline era. Only a few who joined during Midland Mainline days know the codes (specific route codes not headcodes) to those announcements. Even the XC 220/221 auto-announcements (they have the same female that was previously used by Virgin Trains) are based on specific route codes rather than headcodes, meaning that only a few guards who joined XC when it was owned by Virgin know the codes to them, hence why they are rarely used as well.

Oyster and contactless are not valid on this service due to it running fast from Kettering to St Pancras International.
The last station to accept oyster on the Midland Mainline is Radlett while the last station to accept contactless (not oyster) is Luton Airport Parkway ✈️, although on 14th December 2025 they extended it to Harlington which means that Harlington is now the last station on the MML to accept contactless PAYG (but not oyster).
