I am not an expert on moulded seating...but I know a cool product when I see one.
Check out the Freeform Seating Backrest.
Why don't I do moulding? 🤔 Honestly, it just hasn't been a part of my seating journey. I've always worked with modular systems (like Spex and Dreamline) where I can adjust pieces as needed. Having adjustability allows for:
🟠 Weight changes
🟠 Growth
🟠 Postural corrections/deviations
🟠 Change of preferences or not realising the negative impact on supports (such as Functional Tasks).
I also like them because they are often neater and chairs are an extension of a person and should look nice. Sue me.
I could be missing out on some even better solutions. I personally haven't stumbled on the need of a mould with the modular systems around, but perhaps I'm wrong. Are you a therapist or ATP that works with moulded seating? If so, let me know your thoughts on the above. I hear Ride Designs do a neat moulded system that can be adjusted - I've never personally worked with it.
Keen to hear the perspectives of those who have done moulded seating now or in the past!
