This is a rare recording of PanchaVeena performance led by Guru Vainika Vidwan Late Sri C. Krishnamurthy, accompanied by his disciples. This concert was recorded and telecast nearly 35 years ago in Bangalore on Doordarshan Chandana Television, during a period when Panchaveena concerts were prominent but rarely documented on video. I feel blessed for the opportunity to participate.
The recording from the telecast was preserved with great care by my father on a VHS tape, and has recently been digitally converted.
I wanted to ensure this priceless musical heritage is shared to the music rasikas and is available for future generations too. Panchaveena Concerts are happening very rarely today.
I am sharing this video with deep respect, gratitude, and fond memories of our revered Guru, whose contributions to Carnatic music and the Panchaveena tradition remain timeless.
