Speaker: Professor. Vlad Andrei Porumb
Vlad-Andrei Porumb is a Reader (Associate Professor) in Accounting at the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), University of Manchester, which he joined in September 2021. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Professor in the Accounting Department at the University of Groningen. He holds an Advanced Master in Business Administration Research from ESSEC Business School and earned his PhD in 2016 from the THEMA Research Center at Cergy Paris University. Vlad’s research focuses on the intersection of accounting, auditing, and banking regulation, particularly how these domains influence earnings quality and debt contracting. He also explores the evolving dynamics of the space economy and investigates how individual audit partner characteristics contribute to variations in audit quality. His work has been published or accepted in leading academic and practitioner outlets, including Contemporary Accounting Research, Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, European Accounting Review, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Abacus, and the Journal of Banking & Finance.
