Caterpillars of insects typically moults its skin to grow larger in size and the final moult changes its form entirely to become a pupa or chrysalis before subsequently becoming an adult butterfly. Great effort is made to dislogge its head capsule in order for the cast skin to move downwards from head end to tail end.
