Some love it, some hate it. The DX7 is easily one of my favorite synths out there. Known for it's metallic sheen and clanky basslines, I hope this video also shows it and be warm and organic. I don't personally know many people other than myself who actually know how to program it, but if you are willing to spend some time and learn how FM works, it is very rewarding. I think the sound of FM still remains vastly untapped. I taught FM at MTSU and the students loved it. I did some of the downloadable patches for the Reface DX and that's a bit easier to program, so go pick one up or even the little Korg Volca FM. Everyone has heard the presets on this, so I used sounds that are a bit different; some of them I made myself. With a little bit of chorus/reverb from my trusty Lexicon, the sounds really come alive.
