It’s the closest thing we’re ever getting to a tycoon takeover at Bedford Town… and it all started with selling a player who had never even played for us.

In today’s episode of Non-League to Legend FM26, we pull off a masterstroke of non-league financial wizardry: shifting our backup goalkeeper, who somehow ended up as the highest-paid player at the entire club on nearly £1,000 a week. No transfer fee, but that wage coming off the books? That’s basically multipack-of-Toffee-Crisps money at this level.

And with that “takeover” complete, we suddenly have the funds to bring in four or five proper new signings to strengthen our squad for the promotion push. Fool-proof. Genius. Nothing could possibly go wrong…

…until our actual first-choice goalkeeper gets injured immediately. Of course he does.

Can our new signings rescue the situation?
