A LIVE feed of the bird feeders north of the Sax-Zim Bog Welcome Center in northern Minnesota.

EXPECTED BIRDS AT THESE FEEDERS IN WINTER...
--Black-capped Chickadee
--Red-breasted Nuthatch
--White-breasted Nuthatch (more unusual than Red-breasted)
--Downy Woodpecker
--Hairy Woodpecker
--Pileated Woodpecker
--Northern Shrike (rare: eats small birds at feeder, or voles below feeders)
--Canada Jay (on suet only; formerly Gray Jay)
--Blue Jay
--American Goldfinch (none this winter)
--Pine Siskin (none this winter)
--Redpoll (lots around in the woods, but not many at feeders yet; will come in late winter)
--Evening Grosbeak (many at other feeders; only sporadic here)
--Pine Grosbeak (this is a good year for them so they should show up regularly)
--White-winged Crossbill (rarely come to feeders, but a couple were coming to this set up earlier)
--Purple Finch (none this winter; very common last winter)
VERY UNUSUAL POSSIBILITIES...
--Ruffed Grouse, Common Raven, Brown Creeper, Boreal Chickadee (we are a bit too far from bog for them; if seen it would be on suet or rib cage), Northern Saw-whet Owl
MAMMALS
--Red Squirrel
--Ermine (white-pelaged winter phase of Short-tailed Weasel)
--Flying Squirrel (could be either Northern or Southern)
--White-tailed Deer
