by4 presents "elements of james last vol. 1" (2004) – a tribute to james last.
"This album can be found now, with shipping costs, at 4.95 EUR ... it's true! But that does not mean that data is announced that may imply that someone buys it thinking that it is going to get some unpublished mix of this theme: "Pavane".
Themes:
1.- "Manha De Carnaval"
"A beautiful song written by Luiz Bonfa and Antonia Maria for the soundtrack to the movie Orpheo Negro. "This song had not previously been recorded by James Last", however it struck us as a perfect fit on this cd. Derek plays the flugel horn on this one, Sonia performed the vocals and with Pablo Escayola on percussion you just know that the groove would turn out like it was Rio and like Bonfa would have loved it."
"It's not true...this song was included in James Last's album: "Happy Hammond" (1973). Perhaps this data was ignored, because this series: "Hammond à gogo" was the one that almost nobody "wants" to remember. In my opinion, the four albums that make up this series are a delightful sound."
2.- "Pavane"
On the label that is on the CD, digipack edition, it says: "Exclusive Tour edition - Featuring the previously unavailable track: Pavane".
This Maurice Ravel classic was recorded by James Last in 1976 for his "Classics up to date vol. 4" album, one of his most treasured recordings, By4 decided to leave this one the way they found it - absolutely stunning still.
