Wave Rock | Lake Magic | HYDEN, Western Australia

We head out of the city to escape the school holiday chaos in this episode. First we take a small break at York, a quaint country town with some beautiful old buildings. Then back on the road to Corrigin for the night to break up the trip. You can walk to everything from the caravan park, the swimming pool is just across the road, the Main Street is just up from the pool. It is December so it's hot! The pool was a blessing. Next we are off to Hyden. We check out the town before heading to Wave Rock Caravan Park where we spend three nights. We are glad we did stay a few nights so we could explore the area properly. Wave Rock was only a short walk from the caravan park and was just breathtaking. The next day we headed out on the bikes to see Hippo's Yawn and Lake Magic. There is an easy path to both from the van park. Lake Magic is a naturally occurring salt lake. We jumped in for a swim and the buoyancy was crazy! On the way back we stopped at the cafe/shop/museum to check out the dried wildflowers and grab an ice cream. Such a cool place to visit and worth the drive out. I think many people just call in for a quick visit but it was great to have the time to really explore. Until next time...
