here's an easy tutorial with some extra tips that'll hopefully help you figure out your own methods to do velocity
also, time remap and twixtor essentially do the exact same thing/can be used to achieve the same results depending on how you graph it. i prefer using time remap because it's way faster and easier to do in my opinion. the only time i'll resort to twixtor is if time remap glitches the clip, but everyone has different preferences.
smooth velocity is also highly dependent on how smooth the clip is, as in how smooth the person or camera is moving. if your velocity looks really choppy and you can't find a way to fix it, it might just be because of the clip and not because of you.
