Exactly a day after we landed in Delhi by the Tamilnadu Exp., we boarded the Ajmer Shatabdi from the same platform. This was my first trip on a diesel-hauled Shatabdi and my first in the Delhi-Jaipur section, as well. It was refreshing to see that the Tughlakabad Baldie, in charge, had a livery that matched that of the rake. Back then, the Shatabdi had just three halts - Delhi Cantt, Alwar and Jaipur. Encounters with various MG trains including Ahmedabad-DEE Exp. and Bikaner Mail
Halts at Delhi Cantt and Alwar
Palace-on-Wheels rake at Delhi Cantt
