The Curonian Spit in Lithuania boasts over 50 kilometers of beach — and that’s not the only great part of this unique peninsula along the Baltic Sea. Starting in the port city of Klaipeda, we hopped on a quick ferry to reach the spit, where we spent several days biking and hiking through hilly sand dunes and lush pine forests. We set up base in the village of Pervalka (the best place to say, in our opinion), visit the main town of Nida, take a walk through the Hill of Witches, and find out why the "Dead Dunes" are, well, dead.
The Curonian Spit is quite a gem. If you’re a nature lover, or simply enjoy long stretches of sand all to yourself, this should most definitely be on your European bucket list
