Twillingate is a beautiful place with great hikes, icebergs, whales and best of all, cod fishing! Although we didn't see many icebergs, we did go on a few great hikes, but the highlight of this place was cod fishing! Newfoundland is known for its cod fishing, which was the backbone of this wonderful place for years. Following the collapse of the cod fishery, strict regulations were put in place in hopes that the fishery would recover. Now, fishing is only open on Saturdays through Mondays. Our day on the water was one of the best of the trip; the scenery was breathtaking, and the fishing was fantastic, one for the memory books!
