Kasteel Hof de bist 🇧🇪

Zogenaamd "Hof De Bist" naar het toponiem van de omgeving, modo "Hof van Guyot" naar de stichter. In sterk beboomd landschapspark met centraal grasperk gelegen neoclassicistisch kasteel, met ten zuidoosten een aan de straat palende hoeve en een achtzijdig paviljoentje. Opgericht in 1873 door jonker Emiel E. Guyot (burgemeester van 1884 tot 1894). Domein (19,5 hectare) in 1968 aangekocht door de gemeente en omgevormd tot openbaar park met bronzen beeld "De Grote Zee" van J. Peters; kasteel vanaf 1972 in gebruik als "Kunstcentrum De Bist".

So-called "Hof De Bist" after the toponym of the area, modo "Hof van Guyot" after the founder. Neoclassical castle in a heavily wooded landscape park with a central lawn, with a farm adjacent to the street and a small eight-sided pavilion to the south-east. Founded in 1873 by squire Emiel E. Guyot (mayor from 1884 to 1894). Domain (19.5 hectares) purchased by the municipality in 1968 and transformed into a public park with bronze sculpture "The Great Sea" by J. Peters; castle from 1972 in use as "Art Center De Bist".
