In the pursuit of finding more sustainable makeup, I decided to try an Edwardian White Face Powder recipe from 1902. What could...possibly go wrong here? 👀
This recipe is taken from Harriet Hubbard Ayer's book (yes, it's literally called that) from 1902, which contains a plethora of recipes and beauty guidelines from the Edwardian/late Victorian era. Notably, this is one of the few recipes from that book that doesn't seem...like it could kill me. Well anyways, here's how I made this white face powder and how it worked out with natural makeup and shironuri makeup!
