The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga is cracking down on fraud and corruption within its licensing department.
It says it lost R28 million in just four days last month as a result of fraudulent renewal of vehicle licences and the cancellation of traffic fines. It found that employees were colluding with syndicates to commit fraud.
