The Braxton's, Toni, Traci, Towanda, Trina and Tamar (5 sisters), were discovered by Ernesto Phillips who was the founder of Starpoint, and were signed to Arista Records in 1989. They released their first single, "Good Life", which was their only release together as a group. In 1991, Toni Braxton was signed to LaFace Records, while the other sisters were dropped from Arista Records. The rest was history for Toni. This short interview and introduction of the group was around 1990 when they appeared on the Music Video Connection hosted by radio icon Candy Shannon who was a radio celebrity on WKYS 93 in Washington, D.C.
