City activates emergency operations ahead of extreme cold weather

San Antonio city leaders say they are prepared for an escalating cold weather event as forecasts show conditions worsening faster than expected.

Officials activated the City’s Emergency Operations Center and outlined safety measures, warming resources, and infrastructure preparations during a joint briefing Saturday morning.

Mayor Jones reassured residents that the City and its partners have taken extensive precautions, including opening warming locations, treating roadways, and coordinating with utilities and emergency responders.
