Pork Sinigang Step-by-Step Guide:
Ingredients:
500g of pork, cut into pieces
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 thumb-sized ginger, sliced
1 onion, sliced
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 taro (gabi), peeled and cut into pieces
3 tablespoons of fish sauce
Ground black pepper
5 cups water
5-6 pieces of okra
5 pieces of string beans (sitaw), cut into 2-inch pieces
1 radish (labanos), sliced
2-3 green chilies (siling haba)
1 pack of sinigang mix
1 pork cube
spinach leaves
Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions:
Step 1: Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add pork pieces and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 2: Remove pork from the pan and set it aside on a plate.
Step 3: In the same pan, add garlic and stir for 30 seconds. Then, add ginger and continue stirring for another minute until fragrant.
Step 4: Add the sliced onions and stir until they become soft and translucent.
Step 5: Add tomatoes and stir until softened and juicy.
Step 6: Return the pork to the pan and add taro pieces. Stir, cover, and let cook for 3-4 minutes.
Step 7: Add ground black pepper, fish sauce, and 5 cups of water. Cover and cook on medium heat for 40 minutes, or until the pork is tender.
Step 8: Add okra, string beans, radish, green chilies, sinigang mix, and a pork cube. Stir well and let it cook for 5 minutes.
Step 9: Add spinach. Stir, reduce heat to low, and let simmer for a few more minutes.
Step 10: Serve hot with steamed rice and enjoy the ultimate comfort food experience!
