In the Philippines, Christmas season starts during the "Ber months" (SeptemBER, OctoBER, NovemBER, DecemBER). This might be a culture shock for foreigners visiting the Philippines for the first time, and they start to notice the Christmas decors and lights already up and on September 1st.

This early Christmas (we call Christmas "pasko" in the Philippines) has always been a tradition. Here in the Philippines, we don't have Thanksgiving holiday (an American holiday, their tradition is to setup Christmas trees after Thanksgiving), and our Septembers are usually rainy season. In most of Europe and the USA/Canada, their season is still in hot summer lasting until the September equinox.
