I took the most my first cruise ever on a luxury cruise, and it's unlike anything I've done before.
Unlike Royal Caribbean ships, almost everything is included in the cruise fare and there's only a few hundred passengers onboard.
I sailed on Silversea's Silver Dawn, and it's the sister company to Royal Caribbean. I wanted to try Silversea after status matching between the lines became far easier and better last year.
The experience opened my eyes to what luxury cruising is all about, because I wasn't prepared for the vibe of the experience in some areas.
