Part 5 of the Atlantis B-24J Liberator series locks the crew in and turns the cockpit into a lived-in WWII war room—final details, grime, and assembly!
• Final touches on the tiny pilots (face highlights, goggles, harness straps)
• Oil washes for panel depth and shadow
• Varnish layering
• Dry-brushing + chipping/rust for worn metal and scuffed paint
• Assembling pilots into seats using Extra Thin Cement
Quick History: Cockpit Wear B-24 crews flew 25–35 missions in freezing, vibrating cockpits—boots scuffed floors, oil leaked, and flak shredded paint. Chipping around the yoke and rust on pedal brackets were badges of survival; we recreate that battle-worn authenticity.
Tools used:
• Blue Tack
• Wet palette
• Oil Wash
• Fine paint brushes
• Tamiya Extra Thin Cement
