Over 200 years ago, at 72 Market Street in Thornton in Bradford, a group of children were born who would go on to become the most famous literary family in history.
Between 1815 to 1820, this was the home of Rev. Patrick Bronte, and in this 5 year period, saw the arrival of 4 of his children, Charlotte, Emily, Anne and Branwell. Between the three sisters, novels such as Wuthering Heughts, Jane Eyre, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Agnes Grey became famous classic tales, adapted even today into plays and movies.
Today, the Birthplace is a museum, visitor attraction and even an Air BnB....yes, you CAN stay in the same bedrooms as the Bronte family lived in.
