Kayaker Gets Close to a Massive Great White Shark!

I’ve gotten to know this great white shark pretty well over the past few months.
It’s shown up in several of the places I’ve surveyed — same markings, same scars, same calm, curious personality.

In this video, I’ll share three moments that really stood out to me:
this shark interacting with a piece of floating kelp, gliding over a kelp bed near the surf, and finally, swimming right next to a 15’9” kayak — giving us an incredible sense of just how big it really is.

It’s not every day you get to follow an individual white shark across nearly eighty miles of coastline, noticing its unique traits and behaviors along the way.
