Freshen up your spring wardrobe with a Shibori Style tie-dye bandana or face mask! This tutorial will show you 3 different traditional Shibori dyeing techniques. A supply list is as follows, as well as the link to printable Face Mask Directions.
List of Supplies:
•Indigo Dye (I selected Rit Indigo Dye because it is so readily available and simple to use but you are welcome to use another brand of dye.)
•natural fiber clothing or fabric (Cotton, linen, silk or nylon. If you use fabric with synthetic fibers in it, it is suggested that you use a dye specific for synthetic fibers.)
•Salt (For cotton or linen to help set the dye)
•Vinegar (For silk or nylon to help set the dye)
•2 gallon bucket
•rubber gloves
•small wood squares
•rubber bands
•twine
•a PVC pipe
•a long wooden stick
•a drop cloth to protect work surface
*Scissors
