For KRConsultancy's new Summer Series season podcast', Khaula engaged Usama Javed Mirza, a Fulbright and Gates Cambridge Scholar in a podcast-styled chat.
From pursuing a Fulbright in Education from Teachers' College, Columbia University to founding Saving 9, a med-tech social enterprise in Pakistan, Usama Javed is now currently completing his dissertation for his PhD program at the University of Cambridge, where he "focuses on decolonising science education from within an Islamic framework. He is doing this by contributing both to educational philosophy for Muslim educators, and by conducting participatory action research with Muslim schools to reimagine science education at the secondary school level."
In our podcast, we chatted about decolonization in the face of an ongoing genocide, science and religion with a focus on Muslim scholars, and pivoting to new careers to respond to our calling.
