So apparently, I never captured josh's audio in this recording. Whooops, Sorry about that everyone.
Either way I had a fun time with this game. Note, this is only the demo with a very limited selection of heroes to try out, and we couldn't customize them. I'm sure in the future the developers will add more options and variety to allow players to make each character their own.
I did enjoy the skill system with each weapon having its own primary fire skill and a secondary ability skill. It really made us use the other weapons and keep swapping in a fight while we wait for our other weapon skill cooldowns. It also felt like an RPG with some equipment having bonus items attached, further forcing you to experiment and having to choose what should stay in your loadout. Other than that, the games world is really whacky and weird which made me enjoy it a lot more.
Now for the problems. The whole map is just freaking huge! To big in fact to the point of making areas bland boring treks until we reach a camp. There really needs to be some sort of mobility thing besides the Sunflower launchers, because the majority of the time they are facing a completely different direction from your destination. Maybe some sort of vehicle the characters can hop on and off of, but have limited attack options with? You could have it so players are knocked off it with any amount of damage to incentivizes not using the vehicle in combat. Even placing more random enemy spawns in the world would help with the emptiness of it. The majority of the game so far is run through an empty field until you reach a camp, Kill the little number of enemies there, get character upgrade, rinse and repeat. This cycle wouldn't be to bad if the problems I addressed earlier are dealt with. Either way i'm sure the developer has more plans in the future and will be making improvements.
