Hiya! Pixie here!
Here is the FINAL VERSION of my Undertale fan parody, "The Ways That I Have Died", based off of the song "50 Ways to Say Goodbye" by Train.
Hope you enjoy it!
EDIT: I feel like I should post something in the description because the issue of Chara being evil is brought up so much in the comments...but here's how I view this song, these lyrics. If I'm being perfectly honest, I didn't even put much thought into whether certain deaths would fit a Pacifist or Genocide run. I literally tried to think of as many ways as possible that Frisk could have died in the Underground, whether it was possible to die that way in the game or not. (i.e: falling into lava can't happen in the game, but the lyric was fitting so I used it anyway.) So that's why you get the accidental Toriel death lyric (not possible in Geno-run) alongside lyrics about getting "dunked on by Sans" (Geno only). But after so many people pestered me about Chara "being evil" in this song (which, frankly, is a running theory that half the fanbase subscribes to and has some evidence for in-game) I stepped back and tried to look at this whole thing from a solely story-based perspective. Sue me, the writer in me got creative.
For one thing, I was already looking at this (and options for possible lyrics) outside the realm of the game, in the imagery of "If a real kid fell down a real hole into a world of real monsters, I'm guessing that kid might die a little more easily than Frisk in the game." The falling in lava line? Can't happen on the game, like I said, but would PROBABLY happen in real life. But no game also means no player.
On another note, yes, you're right - Chara is probably not evil. But I always had the belief that the Chara we see in the game? That's not really Chara. Based off of a concept I've seen in multitudes of stories, after somebody dies - especially when their death was a tragic one - their spirit gets distorted and corrupted. Chara had a not-so-happy mindset when they arrived in the underground, then went they gave up their soul to Asriel in an attempt to help their newfound family, the humans on the surface killed Asriel anyway...so I imagine that trauma would carry over to their undead ghost. While living with the Dreemurr's I'm sure Chara was much happier! But after death? Maybe not so much.
In the sense of possession - I don't think it was Chara that made the first bad move. I do think that was Frisk. Perhaps not understanding that monsters are friends...poor judgment, fear, reactionary instinct...who knows. In the story I decided I was trying to tell (but didn't quite tell well enough) Frisk probably had run a neutral route first, had worked through the world, had realized they might be able to get a better ending - but because they had killed in the first run, when they reset that let Chara in and in a not-so-friendly way at that. But now Frisk is trying to fix things. They screwed up, but they want to fix it. They'll have to teach Chara how to be good again.
