We are devotees of Ganpati and Dagduseth Maharaj, and we believe in his blessings. The day we booked our car, we knew that our first trip would be to Ashtavinayak to express gratitude and prayers. Also, we all know that Ganpati Bappas blessings are most auspicious to start new things.
This Vlog comprises our Day 1 yatra by the shortest route from Pune and will help you to understand the road conditions, meal and stay options on the way.
It will also help you to estimate the Darshan time in each temple.
--------------------------------------
Ashtavinayakas & Its Significance:
Ganapati Bappa is everything for the Maharashtrian people and have many temples across Maharashtra. Among these temples Ashtvinayakas are eight ancient holy temples which are situated in three districts of Maharashtra- Pune, Raigad, and Ahmednagar.
These temples are of the most significance and are Jagrut and Swayambhu(self-originated/naturally formed) Ganpati.
Ashtavinayak means Eight (Asta) Ganpati or Ganesha(Vinayak). These are eight different Ganpati temples where each Ganpati is in a different Roop(Form), and have different name.
The temples are found and build in the reign of Peshwas and some of the temples are dated to 1st century AD.
*Ashtavinayak Yatra or Darshan is a very holy pilgrimage amongst devotees of Lord Ganesha.
We had been planning for Ashtavinayak Darshan for many years now but mostly people do it with bus tour packages or tour agencies in 3 days 2 nights, on weekends. We wanted to do it by our own car but we had many doubts on routes, road conditions and stay options.
Finally after lot of research and planning we did Ashtavinayak last year. The total Ashtavinayak tour distance from Pune comes around to 650-700 kms, but if you choose the religious route, distance is more.
------------------------
Location & Routes:
For Ashtavinayak Darshan/Yatra there are two routes:
1. Religious Route (As per particular sequence based on popular belief)
2. Shortest Route
1. Religious Route :
Total Kms to cover: 800+kms
It is believed that for completion of Ashtavinayak Yatra you have to visit the First Ganpati temple again after visiting all eight temples.
The Religious Route for the Trip is:
1. Shree Mayureshwar - Morgaon
2. Shree Siddhivinayak - Siddhatek
3. Shree Ballaleshwar - Pali
4. Shree Varad Vinayak - Mahad
5. Shree Chintamani Vinayak - Theur
6. Shree Girijatmaj - Lenyadri
7. Shree Vighanahar - Ozar
8. Shree Mahaganpati - Ranjangaon
& Back to
1.Shree Mayureshwar - Morgaon
to complete the yatra.
You can complete this route in 2 Days but if you stay in Pune, you need to cross over Pune-Mumbai Highway twice in this route on Day 1. If you stay in Mumbai, you have to Cross over Pune towards Moregaon, come back to Pune-Mumbai Highway for Pali and Mahad, again move across Pune back for your Day 2 circuit.
It is hectic drive for sure with the increasing highway traffic everyday, but this circuit is doable. We followed this Religious Route for the first time of our Yatra, last year.
Here how you can do the Yatra with Religious Route in 2 days by your own Car/Bike from Pune :
Day 1 Start From Pune:
1. Shree Mayureshwar - Morgaon
2. Shree Siddhivinayak - Siddhatek
3. Shree Ballaleshwar - Pali
4. Shree Varad Vinayak - Mahad
Stay at Pune in Night.
Total kms Day 1: 471

8. Shree Mahaganpati - Ranjangaon
& Back to
1.Shree Mayureshwar - Morgaon
to complete the yatra and Back to Pune.
Total kms Day 2: 356 kms
