As we all know, Tommy's knowledge in history isn't as vast as you would think. Even though he plays a lot of strategy games like HOI4, CK2, EU4 and other Paradox games, he is very limited in his knowledge in a lot of parts of history. One of them being the whole age of colonization, especially the early parts. How did the massive expansion of European countries start? How did they become these vast colonial empires that could rival the Mongol Empire? How did they become so rich and overcame the prestige of China? Well with a lot of really bad stuff happening in Americas for example. The Spanish colonizing, what we now know as, Latin America. Portugal colonizing Brazil. France, the UK and Netherlands colonizing North America. USA colonizing the whole world. You get the idea. The Americas are a big deal in human history. After the discovery of these continents, the whole dynamic of the world changed. The power went from Asia to Europe in a small amount of time and events like these shape the world to this day.
