Sailing to Yarmouth and Southampton from Weymouth

Sailing with skipper Mick and me. After two weeks of stunning weather and some beautiful places to stop over, we headed home towards Southampton. We left Weymouth in the August heatwave with temperatures in the 30s. The skies and seas were blue and there was little wind, just enough to fill the sails. We enjoyed a relaxed motor sail along the stunning Dorset Durassic Coast, passing the very flat waters off St Albans Head and Peveril Point and then battling against the tide towards The Needles. Crossing Poole Bay we saw the smoke from the wild fires at Studland. We stopped overnight in The Beautiful Yarmouth Harbour, before heading home to Marchwood Yacht Club. On our final sail home we had the pleasure of seeing the 40ft racing yacht Palanad 3, just completing an Atlantic crossing
