Built in 1955 for the Chicago, Burlington, & Quincy railroad (CB&Q), CN 105 spent it's last years on the CN at CN's Homewood Yard in Illinois, gathering dust in storage. It was recently announced that the locomotive would be sold or donated to the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin, which immediately got railfans like myself anticipating the ferry move from Illinois to Green Bay over the CN Waukesha Subdivision. As a huge fan of American streamliner passenger trains, especially E units, I put in an extra effort to catch this train before it went into full retirement.
According to this article in TRAINS magazine, CN 103 was the last "double diesel" on a Class I railroad:
