THE MOON KNIFE (Forging A Knife During a SOLAR ECLIPSE!) April 8th 2024, blacksmithing and forging

on April 8th 2024 a solar eclipse went across America, and I was almost in the path of totality, the shadow passed right over my state and I got to witness nearly 94% of totality , it was a fun experience to witness with my family and definitely something that can never be captured on film, I tried my best to get pictures but if you didn't see it in person you wouldn't understand how speechless it was to see the moon passing in front the sun, it was for me at least I've never seen one in my 21 years of life, so it was a very fun experience.

I forged out a few knives during the eclipse and quenched them during totality, I made a small skinning knife, a Buschcraft camp blade, and the other I was still working on but didn't have time to fit it in the video, with how long it's been taking me to edit this video, filming and editing at the same time even I just decided to show 2 of the knives, if this video does well and people are intrigued ill post a second eclipse knife video , but as far as materials go I used some walnut handle scales, 5160 LEAF SPRING for the blades all 100% hand forge, and a mixture of brass and steel pins for the handle,
each knife I forged in a integral lanyard loop/ squirrel tails just to give it my own design choice

started forging knives when I was 18 and I've been perfecting my craft ever since, I started in new Jersey USA, and since then have moved to Pennsylvania, I'm a one man band up here with everything I make is by hand here in the USA, whatever I make I wouldn't it let leave my shop unless I would personally carry it, or use it every day, I take myself very seriously on making a quality products.
