Marco Narzisi presented to us "Free journalism, fake news and Truth in the age of WordPress":

WordPress, as an open-source solution for blogging, has given to everyone the chance to spread his opinion worldwide, in a new wave of democracy and freedom of speech. But, nowadays, using WordPress, people are sharing more than opinions: they are spreading news, but not always facts, not always the Truth. WordPress has given us the power whether to do free and independent journalism or just spread fake news: you can tell things that mainstream media don’t say, or you can become just a pit poisoner. And you can call yourself « a journalist ». Starting from my experience in independent journalism with WordPress, we will try to discern the values and the principles that can help us to recognize high-quality free information and be aware of fake news.
