In this video I talk about where to find the model and size of your backflow assembly so you can order the right repair kit/parts.
Look for a tag first that should have that information.
If the tag is missing or unreadable look for the model and brand raised in the brass on the side of the assembly.
Size is always raised in the brass on both ball valves/shut off valves.
As a last resort I talk about other identifiers to help determine what you have. How many covers does it have? Is the cover(s) round and thread in or square or other shape? How many bolts does it have? What color are the shut off handles? Is there a name on the handle? Where is the relief valve positioned? Does one check point up and one down or are they both up? If it is a PVB is it a metal or plastic canopy? The model maybe on that canopy.
You may have to look at the internal parts and describe them as well. What color plastic, or are the parts metal? What color are the rubbers? Is the spring captured or not?
Seem like this is too much? Give me a call or email me. Info at the end of the video!
