We got the Brittany ferries ferry from Portsmouth in the Uk to Santander in Spain. It's a 30 hour crossing but for us is a bit easier than going through France. The only choice is with Brittany ferries, and we quite enjoy the trip, although the crossing can sometimes be rough.
This video shows the port at Portsmouth, the Salamanca ferry and Santander port.
