এবার বাংলাদেশ থেকে স্থলবন্দর দিয়ে ৯ ধরনের পণ্য আমদানিতে নিষেধাজ্ঞা দিয়েছে ভারত। শুক্রবার ভারতের বৈদেশিক বাণিজ্য অধিদপ্তরের এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এই নিষেধাজ্ঞার কথা জানানো হয়েছে। তবে বাংলাদেশ থেকে এসব পণ্য আমদানির ক্ষেত্রে সমুদ্রপথে একটি পথ খোলা রেখেছে ভারত। বিজ্ঞপ্তি অনুযায়ী, সমুদ্রপথে মুম্বাইয়ের নভোসেবা বন্দর দিয়ে এসব বাংলাদেশি পণ্য ভারতে যেতে পারবে। স্থলবন্দর দিয়ে আমদানি নিষিদ্ধ করা এসব বাংলাদেশি পণ্যের মধ্যে রয়েছে কাঁচা পাট, পাটের রোল, পাটের সুতা ও বিশেষ ধরনের কাপড়। এ নিয়ে বাংলাদেশ থেকে পণ্য আমদানিতে তিন মাসে তিন দফায় বিধিনিষেধ আরোপ করল ভারত। এর আগে গত ১৭ মে স্থলবন্দর দিয়ে ভারতে তৈরি পোশাক, প্রক্রিয়াজাত খাদ্য, প্লাস্টিক, কাঠের আসবাব, সুতা ও সুতার উপজাত, ফল ও ফলের স্বাদযুক্ত পানীয়, কোমল পানীয় প্রভৃতি পণ্য আমদানিতে বিধিনিষেধ দিয়েছিল।

India has imposed a ban on the import of 9 categories of goods from Bangladesh through land ports. This restriction was announced in a notification issued on Friday by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) of India. However, India has kept one route open for the import of these goods from Bangladesh — by sea. According to the notification, these Bangladeshi products can enter India through the Nhava Sheva port in Mumbai via the sea route. Among the items banned from land port import are raw jute, jute rolls, jute yarn, and certain special types of fabric. With this, India has imposed import restrictions on Bangladeshi goods three times in the past three months. Earlier, on May 17, India restricted the import of ready-made garments, processed food, plastic, wooden furniture, yarn and its by-products, fruits and fruit-flavored beverages, soft drinks, and more from Bangladesh via land ports.
