Captain Ken Mulder of HIIYA Sportfishing repurposed his 34' Crusader to be used for Tautog Charters in Jamestown, Rhode Island. It was a project that involved installing a bow-mounted auto deploy Minnkota Trolling Motor. However, Ken quickly learned that to power these motors, multiple Lead Acid batteries are required adding considerable weight and taking up large amounts of space. Not to mention their performance left a lot to be desired! Ken quickly asked around and learned about Solid State Marine batteries, and never looked back
