TIDIRC: Implementation Science Theories, Models, & Frameworks

This lecture provides an overview of implementation science theories, models, and frameworks, covering why they are important in D&I research, how they should be used, and a discussion of various definitions and conceptualizations as well as related resources. This session is part of the curriculum for the Training Institute in Dissemination and Implementation Research in Cancer (TIDIRC). Research on dissemination and implementation (D&I) seeks to address the gap between what we know can optimize health and what gets implemented in practice by understanding how best to ensure that evidence-based strategies to improve health and prevent disease are effectively delivered across settings.
