Back to the Range: Testing CCI Standard Ammo with Tightened Screws – Unexpected Results!
I headed back to the range to give CCI Standard .22LR another try – this time with every screw and bolt firmly tightened. After some initial tests, I expected to get those nice, tight groups with my Feinwerkbau AW93 competition pistol. But, boy, was I in for a surprise! Instead of smaller, more precise groupings, I got the opposite. Using the same .22 Long Rifle pistol and shooting at the same distance, my group sizes actually increased.
Could it be a different lot of CCI Standard .22LR ammo? I can't say for certain, but it does remind us that, in precision shooting, you can’t take anything for granted. Whether you're into competitive shooting, target practice, or just love testing .22 ammo, this was an eye-opener.
