Butter chicken is the most popular chicken dish of North India.it is a finger licking gravy, prepared with paste of Onion , tomato, ginger & garlic , garam masala & nuts.A perfect delight to treat your guests & family royally
Ingredients
Tandoori chicken.......................... half cut in to pieces.
Whole garam masala.....................1 Bay leaf few , 17 black peppers, 1 large cardamom, 3 green cardamom, 1 cinnamon, 1 star, 5 cloves.
Onion............................................4 Medium ( boiled, Puréed and sieved)
Tomatoes......................................4 large boiled, puréed and sieved.
Ginger garlic paste..........................4 tsp.
Cream...........................................1 cup.
Mawa (Khoya)................................1/2 cup.
Curd ............................................ 1/2 cup.
Red chilli powder............................1 tsp.
Garam masala powder..................1 tsp.
Salt .............................................to tast.
Kasoorie methi.............................1/2 tsp.
Desi ghee.....................................1 tsp.
Butter...........................................1 tsp.
Cashew nuts.................................2 tsp.
Water melon seeds........................3 tsp.
Ginger Julian ...............................few.
Method
1) Take a deep pan to prepare this gravy.
2) Put two large spoons of oil, heat it.
3) Add all the garam masala heat it well.
4) Add the onion paste cook it for 5 min.
5) Add ginger and garlic paste and cook for 2 min.
6) Add tomato puree,chilli powder and salt cook for 5-6 min till oil appears on top.
7) Add curd cook it well add garam masala powder ,ghee and cook for 4 min.
8) Add cashew nut and watermelon seed paste, keep on mixing add 1/2 cup of water cream and food colour. Add 1 glass of water cook on slow flame for 20-25 min till oil appears on sides and top. Remove excess oil.
9) Add mawa and kasoorie methi, cook with chicken for 3-4 min.
10) Garnish with cream, ginger Julian and coriander.
