Today I’m tackling summer lawn weed control from start to finish. I began by mowing high in the front yard to keep the grass healthy and shade out weed seeds. Then I went over the entire lawn, hand-pulling large weeds and checking for problem areas.
Next, I applied Dimension (Dithiopyr) — one of the best pre-emergent herbicides for preventing crabgrass and other weeds. Dimension also works as a post-emergent on young weeds, giving you season-long protection. This makes it perfect for lawn weed control during the summer.
